In 1972 (38 years ago!) I was sitting in Mrs. Kwong's accounting class listening over the intercom system of Churchill High to a game being played in Moscow. When Paul Henderson scored the classroom and much of Canada erupted. Sunday we were sitting around the living room in our Team Canada garb watching as Sid the Kid scored. What a perfect end to a storybook Olympics. No we didn't own the podium but 3rd overall and first in gold is an amazing accomplishment for a country with our population.
The round robin portion of Northwood playoffs ended and the championship will see the 3rd and 4th place teams in the regular season face off next week. We had a 3 way tie for second and had to use a calculator to determine the team moving on to the final.
